  Model elements: this is the broad catalogue evidence for programChoice 4. The joint honours and major with routes are formal degree paths with two substantial subject areas, stronger than a minor. This is still not treated as open programme flexibility because the combinations are pre-defined named UCAS programmes.

  The Liberal Arts page says the programme allows students to pursue a discipline specialism or broader thematic cross-disciplinary interests, and lists a three-year full-time undergraduate route.

  The course structure says Stage 1 students take a core module, an interdisciplinary module, two pathway modules and two optional modules. It says students are free to choose from interdisciplinary and pathway modules, as well as other modules offered on single honours programmes in the Faculty, subject to prerequisites.

  At the end of Level 1 students can nominate a pathway, with options including Anthropology and Paleoecology, Archaeology, Drama, Economics, English, Geography, French, Film, History, International Studies, Irish, Music, Philosophy, Politics, Portuguese, Sociology, Spanish and thematic pathways such as Migration, Sustainability, Irish Studies, American Studies, Gender and Decolonisation.

  Model elements: this supports courseChoice 3 as a documented flexible pocket with broad internal choice outside one original subject, and also supports programChoice 2 inside Liberal Arts through later pathway nomination. The university coordinate for programme choice is higher because Queen's also has formal joint honours and major with degrees.

  The History and Politics BA page lists a three-year full-time undergraduate joint honours route.

  The course content says the Joint Honours History and Politics degree comprises compulsory modules together with optional modules, and that students choose three modules from each subject for the year.

  It describes further politics options at Stages 1 and 2, a wide range of specialist politics modules at Stage 3, and a possible double module dissertation chosen in consultation with a supervisor.

  Model elements: this confirms that joint or combined STEM routes are not limited to arts and social sciences. The choice of modules remains programme-bounded here, so it is not the main evidence for courseChoice 3.

  The Medicine MB page lists a five-year full-time undergraduate professional route.

  The page also notes Student Selected Components within the medical curriculum, but this is treated as programme-internal choice rather than broad elective freedom.

  Model elements: this source sets the upper duration bound at five years and keeps professional programme electives from inflating courseChoice.

  The undergraduate study regulations say modules in other institutions may be taken as part of a degree only subject to the consent of the relevant Head of School or nominee. The modules must be at an appropriate level, credit is granted for equivalent modules completed at other degree awarding institutions, and the maximum is six modules or 120 credit points.

  The same regulations say subject to approval by relevant Heads of School or nominees, enrolled students may change degree programme if prerequisites are met and places are available.

  Strict cross-registration review: this is not counted as courseChoice 4. It is a consent-based external credit route with equivalence checks, not routine low-bureaucracy cross-registration for one or two partner-university courses that simply enter the student's degree record.
