  The first loaded bachelor results show regular bachelor's programmes such as Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Economics and others as 3 year, 180 credit programmes.

  Model elements: this source sets the normal lower duration at 3 years and shows that the catalogue is organised by named degree programmes.

  The official Study Guide filter for Bachelor's Programme 4 Year shows 3 programmes.

  The loaded results are Bachelor of Environmental Technology, Bachelor of Food Technology and Bachelor of Molecular Biotechnology, each listed as 4 year and 240 credits.

  Model elements: this source sets the upper bachelor duration at 4 years. Master's programmes were not counted as bachelor duration.

  The official Chemistry bachelor's page gives the programme as a 3 year, 180 study point bacheloropleiding.

  The structure section says that in the second semester of the third year students partly compose their own programme, choose a bachelor project from a diverse offer of short research internships, and select one of four minors.

  The listed minors are research and development, multidisciplinary broadening, education and international exchange.

  Model elements: this supports programChoice 1, because the student chooses a minor inside an already selected primary bachelor programme. I did not find official bachelor evidence for post-enrollment choice of the main major.

  The 2026-2027 programme confirms a 3 year, 180 study point degree and a 30 study point minors block.

  The minors block requires 1 minor from the listed options, subject to faculty approval.

  The multidisciplinary broadening minor allows up to 15 study points from other UGent programmes in Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Bioscience Engineering.

  This internal cross-programme choice counts toward the degree and supports courseChoice 3. The option of up to 15 study points from another Flemish Community university is treated as boundary evidence only, because it does not prove low-bureaucracy external course registration for the dominant model.

  The official Study Guide search for double in Bachelor's Programme returned 0 programmes; the corresponding search for joint in Bachelor's Programme also returned 0 programmes.

  Model elements: this negative check is not treated as proof that no combined route exists anywhere, but it is why I kept the classification at programChoice 1 rather than raising it to double-major level without direct evidence.

• Exchange abroad for Ghent University students https://www.ugent.be/student/en/class-exam-exchange-intern/exchange-ugent-students/overview.htm

  The official student page says Erasmus is not the only option for students who want to gain experience abroad during their studies.

  It says various scholarships are available for exchange for study, research as part of a master's thesis or internship, and that in most cases there must be an agreement between the programme or faculty and the chosen institution.

  It also states that the exchange must be part of the curriculum of a bachelor, master or master after master programme and part of a diploma contract leading to graduation.

  The official ECTS page says the system provides common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad.

  It states that full academic recognition means the study period abroad, including examinations or assessment, replaces a comparable period at the home institution, even if the agreed study programme content differs.

  It names the Learning Agreement as the document covering the study programme and ECTS credits to be awarded, and Proof of Recognition as the document showing that the study abroad period has been recognised at the home institution.
