  Strict review: the Equal, Major/Minor and Triple labels do not support programChoice 4 because they are UCAS-coded named courses. They show approved admission routes, not in-study choice of a second main specialisation.

  The Liberal Arts BA page describes a 3-year full-time degree where students curate their own path of study across arts and humanities.

  It says students choose option modules across arts and humanities, may also be able to choose electives in sciences and social sciences, and get dedicated support to shape module choices.

  In the first year, students study four option modules from three different subject areas; in the second year they choose five option modules from three different subject areas; in the final year they take further options and an interdisciplinary dissertation.

  Model elements: Liberal Arts is a flexible interdisciplinary pocket, but it is still a named approved degree and therefore not enough to classify the whole university as an open programme.

  York says students can spend time studying abroad at partner universities across the world.

  The page describes an additional year abroad that is recognised in the degree title if completed, and a credit-replacing option in which students go abroad for the second year and the overseas studies count towards the overall York grade.
