The University of Otago describes a general bachelor's degree as a model where students study subjects from two or more faculties, every programme has a major subject and may also have a minor subject.
The page also states that papers from other degrees up to 90 points may count towards the degree.
This supports programChoice 3 and courseChoice 3: major and minor choice is proven in the general model, and broad internal credit for papers from other degrees is documented.
The qualifications page shows Otago's undergraduate bachelor's degrees and the general degree frame.
Normal external course choice with credit was not found, so courseChoice is not raised to 4.
The QS TopUniversities profile for the QS World University Rankings 2027 cycle reports 19,094 total students and UG students at 81.7%. On that basis, undergraduateEnrollment total is calculated as 15,601 students.
The official Universities New Zealand page for the University of Otago confirms a newer total headcount of 21,315 for 2024, but does not provide a level split. QS does not split UG students into bachelor, honours, undergraduate diploma and certificate routes, so bachelor remains null. The specialist degree level does not apply to the New Zealand model.
